International Literacy Day

Literacy is a right and a foundation for life long learning, better well-being and livelihoods. International Literacy Day was established in 1965 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and is celebrated around the world each Year on 8th September. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.
