In 1961-62 Girl Guiding was taken to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and a separate status was granted to them. In early stages Guide companies were formed in districts of Muzaffarabad and Mir Pur. First Guide House of AJK branch was constructed in Muzaffarabad. In early 90s Guiding was taken to other districts of AJK and a district trainer was appointed in the districts of Kotli, Bhimber, Bagh and Rawalakot. Senior Guide branch was also initiated in AJK and first commissioner for Senior Guides in AJK was appointed.

After the Earthquake of 2005, the Guide House at Muzaffarabad was reconstructed by the national Relief Cell of Pakistan Girl Guides Association.
