TRAINING FOR THE TEACHERS OF “DEVELOPMENT IN LITERACY”

Development in Literacy is an NGO working for education in Punjab and Federal areas of Pakistan. Pakistan Girl Guides Association organized a Basic Training for Guiders from 19th to 22nd July, 2016. 30 teachers of Development in Literacy (DIL) belonging to 17 schools of Islamabad & Rawalpindi district attended the training.

The training sessions included of presentations and different kind of activities by the facilitators which were much appreciated by the participants. Mrs. Tahira Ahmad, Mrs. Shamsa Kashif, Syeda Khawar Ehsan, Ms. Zaheen Shafque, Mrs. Saba Shahab and Mrs. Arjumand Shamim were among the facilitators.

Sessions on Introduction of Guiding, Formation of Guide Companies, Components of Guide program, History of Guiding, Social Service projects of PGGA, National and International Guide Celebrations and International Guiding were the main features of the workshop. Participants also learned to make different gadgets with the help of different kinds of lashing.

Closing ceremony of the training was organized on 22nd July, 2016.  Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, National Commissioner of PGGA (Pakistan Girl Guides Association) presided the ceremony.  Senator Nuzhat Sadiq in her address welcomed the participants in the Guide family and emphasized the importance of teachers in the society . She motivated them to learn for moving forward in life. She also distributed certificates among the participants.
